Data Scientist
Local: Porto Salvo - TagusPark
What You Will Be Doing
- Identify, capture, and analyse data to support business decisions and financial crime risk management.
- Lead data-driven initiatives across onboarding, KYC, and economic crime domains.
- Develop insights, reporting, and analytical solutions to enhance operational and compliance effectiveness, and customer outcomes.
- Partner with stakeholders to translate business challenges into analytical opportunities.
- Own and continuously enhance the department’s financial crime analytical module, including rules, scenario analysis, and detection models.
What You Will Need
Must haves:
- Experience 2-5 years in data science, analytics, or data-driven risk management roles.
- Strong analytical skills with experience working with large and complex datasets.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R.
- Proficiency in SQL
- Understanding descriptive analysis, correlations, hypothesis testing, and segmentation.
- Ability to communicate insights effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Good to have:
- Experience with Microsoft Fabric.
- Experience in financial crime, fraud, AML, KYC, or banking environments is highly desirable.
- A proactive mindset with the ability to lead initiatives and drive outcomes independently.
