As a Data Science & Machine Learning Intern, you will play a key role in supporting our fraud prevention and detection initiatives. Data Science & Machine Learning Intern – Economic Crime & Fraud
Location: Porto Salvo - TagusPark
What You Will Be Doing
- Data Analysis & Feature Engineering: Explore large, complex datasets to identify economic crime patterns and create meaningful features for predictive models.
- Model Development: Assist in building, testing, and validating machine learning models for economic crime detection and anomaly detection.
- Performance Monitoring: Support the development of dashboards and metrics to monitor model performance and fraud trends.
- Collaboration: Work closely with our experts, data engineers, and risk teams to align models with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
What You Will Need
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related field.
- Strong knowledge of Python (pandas, scikit-learn, etc.) and familiarity with SQL.
- Understanding of machine learning concepts (classification, anomaly detection, supervised/unsupervised learning).
- Ability to work with large datasets and perform data cleaning, transformation, and visualization.
- Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills.
- Good communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment.
